Once you start a workout in the Built With Science+ app, you’ll see a detailed view that helps you track your progress, log your sets, and monitor performance all in one place.
Here’s a breakdown of what each element on the workout page means:
1. Finish Button
Tap Finish once you’ve fully partially completed your entire workout. This saves your progress and updates your weekly completion stats.
2. Progress Tracker
Shows how many workouts you’ve completed for the day (e.g., 1/7) along with a progress bar to visualize how far along you are.
3. Exercise Title
Displays the name of the current exercise. You can tap it to expand and view the exercise guide, complete with instructions, video demonstration and form tips. From this expanded view, you can also view your past history completion of this exercise.
4. PR (Personal Record) Badge
Appears next to an exercise or set after you’ve set a new personal best in weight.
5. Notes Section
Allows you to jot down reminders or cues for your next session (e.g., “slow down reps” or “use a wider grip”). Notes carry over to future workouts of the same exercise.
6. Previous Set Data
Shows your last logged performance for that exercise (weight x reps) to help guide your targets for this session.
7. Weight (LBS or KG)
Enter the weight you’re lifting for each set. The app will automatically recognize and log it once saved.
8. Reps
Log the number of repetitions you complete for each set.
9. Effort Level
Rate the difficulty of each set. Selecting the effort level helps the app track your intensity over time which will help it make suggestions for you the next time you perform this exercise.
10. & 11. Progress Indicators
These upward and downward arrows are the app's recommendations whether you should increase or decrease your weights / reps for this particular exercise. Recommendations are based on your previous inputs.
12. Rest Timer
Displays your recommended rest time between sets. The timer automatically starts once you complete a set but can be adjusted manually if needed.
13. Add Set Button
Use + Add Set to include additional sets if you’re progressing faster than expected or want to increase volume for that exercise.
